Anti-negative Pressure Valve, Safeguard the Safety of Water Treatment Tanks

May. 28, 2026

Fiberglass filter tanks and softener tanks are prone to denting, cracking,

leakage and even scrapping under negative pressure.

Vacuum breaker valves can effectively protect the tanks.

1. Causes of Tank Damage

During operation of water treatment equipment, water level difference, design defects,

system shutdown and siphon effect will generate negative pressure inside the tank.

Fiberglass tanks are structurally resistant to positive pressure but vulnerable to negative pressure.

Once the negative pressure exceeds the tank's bearing limit, the tank will deform and develop creases.

Repeated negative pressure will worsen the damage, eventually causing rupture and leakage.

Such damage is irreparable, so the tank has to be replaced, which raises costs and disrupts production.

2. Product Functions & Working Principle

This valve integrates air intake, air venting, pressure stabilization and sealing.

It automatically admits air to balance pressure when negative pressure occurs inside the tank.

During equipment operation, it exhausts accumulated air to eliminate air resistance.

It closes automatically when pressure returns to normal to prevent water leakage.

3.Specifications & Parameters

ModelConnection SpecificationsApplicable Tank Size
CDFY-3Bottom connection: G¾", Side connection: G½"10–21 inch tanks
CDFY-4Bottom connection: G1", Side connection: G½"24–63 inch tanks
CDFY-5Bottom connection: G1¼", Side connection: G½"72-80 inch tanks

4. Product Advantages

Durable Material

Constructed entirely from alloy ABS material, it features high sturdiness and long service life,

suitable for harsh working conditions of water treatment systems.

Wide Compatibility

Fits various pipelines and water treatment units, compatible with filter tanks,

softener tanks and reverse osmosis pre-treatment systems.

Automatic Protection

Fully automatic operation.

It adjusts automatically according to internal tank pressure to fundamentally protect the tank without manual intervention.

Easy Installation

Innovative design with standard threaded connection for simple and quick mounting.

5. Operating Guidelines

Installation: Mount at the highest point on the tank top,

within 300 mm from the center of the tank opening.

Model Selection:

Choose the appropriate model based on tank dimensions.

Maintenance: Inspect and clean regularly to ensure unobstructed air flow and reliable sealing.

Conclusion

This compact vacuum breaker valve provides cost-effective protection for tanks.

It prevents equipment damage and production downtime,

ensuring stable operation of the entire water treatment system
