Control valves serve as the core control components of complete equipment for pure water systems, household water softeners, swimming pool water purification equipment, and iron & manganese removal water treatment systems. They govern the full operating cycles including filtration, regeneration and backwashing. This article elaborates on four mainstream water treatment control valves, categorized into automatic and manual types, which are applicable to various scenarios including household use and engineering pretreatment projects.
I. Automatic Filtration Valves

Equipped with an LED display, it can store operating data for 3 days after power failure. It is provided with B-01/B-02 signal output ports, remote control ports and interlock ports. The operation cycle supports two timing modes: day-based and hour-based. A customized RS-485 communication port is available. No raw water bypass occurs during equipment flushing. The repeated flushing times F-00 can be customized. Timed type and flow type control modes are optional. Compatible power supply: AC 100–240V, 50–60 Hz.
Applicable scenarios: household filtration equipment, activated carbon filters and sand filters for reverse osmosis pretreatment, swimming pool filtration equipment, iron and manganese removal systems.
II. Automatic Softening Valves

The electrical control configuration of automatic softening valves is consistent with that of automatic filtration valves. Suitable for ion exchange water softening systems, they automatically complete the full process of water production, backwashing, brine suction & slow rinse, brine tank refilling and forward washing.
No hard water bypass during flushing to guarantee stable outlet water quality. Features power-off data storage, remote port linkage and customizable RS-485 communication. Both timed and flow control modes are optional. The wide-voltage power supply fits applications in various regions.
Applicable scenarios: household water softeners, softening units for reverse osmosis pretreatment, ion exchange equipment and boiler water softening systems.
III. Manual Softening Valves

Switch working positions by rotating the handwheel, covering five working modes: service, backwash, brine draw & slow rinse, brine tank refill and fast rinse.
It supports manual operation under working pressure with no raw water bypass during regeneration.
Adopting an all-mechanical structure without electronic components, it features stable performance and easy maintenance.
Applicable scenarios: household water softeners, softening units for reverse osmosis pretreatment, ion exchange equipment and boiler water softening systems.
IV. Manual Filtration Valves

Switch working positions via the handle to realize three functions: service operation, media backwashing and media forward rinsing.
It allows manual operation under pressure without raw water bypass during flushing.
With mechanical construction, it features compact size and easy installation.
Applicable scenarios: household filtration equipment, quartz sand filters for reverse osmosis pretreatment, swimming pool filtration equipment, iron and manganese removal filters.
Valve Classification Comparison
| Valve Type | Operation Mode | Core Features | Applicable Scenarios |
| Automatic Filtration Valve | Fully Automatic Electronic Control | Equipped with LED display and power-off memory function; supports remote linkage; flow / time control optional | Swimming pool circulation, industrial RO pretreatment, iron & manganese removal engineering equipment for well water |
| Automatic Softening Valve | Fully Automatic Electronic Control | Automatically completes the full water softening regeneration cycle; customizable communication functions | Commercial water softening systems, boiler water softening, large-scale pure water pretreatment |
| Manual Softening Valve | Handwheel Mechanical Operation | No electrical components; operable under pressure; 5 working position switching | Small household water softeners, small boiler makeup water softening units |
| Manual Filtration Valve | Handle Mechanical Operation | Simple structure, low cost, easy installation | Household water purification, small well water filtration equipment |
This document covers four major categories of multi-port water treatment valves: automatic filtration valves, automatic softening valves, manual softening valves and manual filtration valves, featuring two structural types: fully automatic electronic control and all-mechanical manual operation.
The automatic series comes with intelligent control, remote linkage, power-off memory and other functions, suitable for engineering water purification systems requiring long-term uninterrupted operation. The manual series operates via mechanical structures with simple construction, ideal for small household and compact water treatment equipment.
All valve bodies can be matched with standard water treatment filter tanks, and are applicable to various water treatment projects including whole-house water purification, reverse osmosis pretreatment, swimming pool water circulation, boiler water softening, and iron & manganese removal from well water.
